ShareThose that know me well, know my love of the golden mean. It is a beautiful number, the most rational of the 'irrational' numbers.
Sometimes referred to as the divine proportion, most of us know it from high school algebra (and thus find the whole thing boring)
Remember “a is to b, as b is to the whole”.
It is a proportion that is all around us in many shapes and forms – it appears to have been known to Plato and was definitely known to Euclid.
It can be found in nature> It is everywhere in human civilisation - in architecture, art and design - and possibly even in the stock market.
It’s very difficult to describe the beauty of the golden mean in a short article, but hopefully this video will inspire you to look out for the divine proportion in the world around you.
Called ‘Nature by Numbers’ it is the work of a talented Spanish animater and 3D illustrator Cristóbal Vila
Enjoy!
