Bushrangers to the rescue!

Again the young people of Busselton have inspired me. This time it was the students of the Geographe Special Education Centre and Geographe Bushrangers who walked 50 kms to help others in need.

A special thank you from the Tenderfeet kids

They had heard about Tenderfeet Education Centre through one of the chats I gave at Busselton Senior High School on what life was like in Kibera for kids and they rallied to the cause. I didn't even know they planned this mamoth fundraising effort until they asked if I could help them get the money raised to Tenderfeet.

They headed out on the Cape to Cape Trail and covered 50kms over three days after getting sponsorship for the walk.

I was smiling for days when I heard of their effort. And they were pretty impressed when they found out their hard work raised enough money to feed and educate over 60 children for two months!

Well done to all the Bushrangers - I am humbled by your efforts and intend to tell all the teachers and students at Tenderfeet what you have done for them when I visit Kibera next week.

FOOTNOTE: The Tenderfeet kids were really excited to hear of the efforts the Busrangers went to for them and sent them a special photo they made for them!
