As we make our way through life, certain things - be they people, books, the way light dances through leaves, simple acts of kindness - inspire us and add quality to who we are.
This section of our website is dedicated to some of the things that have inspired us. Do they all relate to the business of design and communication? No, but yes. All our inspirations impact on the person we are, and how we react with the world around us.
All of these little inspirations help shape our philosphies on life and living, and how we create the work we do!
We will add inspirations to this section over time - we hope to be inspired everyday!
Websites
This website inspires in many ways. A Sydney based company, vermillion has philosphies for business that acknowledge the importance of companies that give a damn about what they do, and how they do it! Visit them at www.vermillion.com.au
Random Acts of Kindness
Kitchen Works
Located in Fig Tree Lane, Busselton, the team at Kitchen Works saw me rummaging through their beautiful kitchenwares trying to decide what I could afford to buy for the photoshoot for this website. They kindly let me borrow whatever I needed out of the goodness of their hearts. A big thank you for inspiring me with your random act of kindness.
Life Mentors
Throughout our life we meet people who inspire or teach us important things. I have been lucky enough to have a number of them. Family, friends, children (my own especially) work colleagues - they all know who they are, and would probably be embarrassed if I mentioned them by name. To all of you, thank you for your support and mentoring.
Books
This book isn't really about Zen, or Art or even Motorcycle Maintenance. What it is about is best decided by the reader. All that can be said for sure is it's inspiration is felt at so many levels, and in so many ways. The name Gumption was inspired by this book! An online version can be viewed here.
I discovered this book many years ago whilst in a small town on the other side of the world, on a young man's journey of discovery. Its a strangely simple book yet filled with little pieces of wisdom that inspire. Most inspirational to me was I emailed the author and he took the time to write back and answer my questions the very next day. Thank you for that one, Mr Millman!
